IT’S A BEAUTIFUL DAY
TORIE NIMMERVOLL

It’s a Beautiful Day is a reminder of returning back to basics. The simple things to enjoy about living and how lucky we are to live. This work is also a homage to the artist’s father Ed Nimmervoll who passed away late last year of brain cancer. The items within the space and outside the arched window represent the man’s personality and his philosophy even in the later part of his life when times were tough. He asked his wife whilst battling cancer to go find him a four leaf clover. It’s a Beautiful Day were the last words he wrote to his daughter. Torie Nimmervoll’s practice explores the physical and atmospheric experience of space. She is mainly recognised in recent years as a performance artist. Under the consideration of the subject matter being absent from the work is her performative act.
