HOTEL TIJAMPUHAN
PIP DAVEY
Pip Davey’s immersive hyper-real works depict a land of luxurious tropical vegetation and the sublime exotic.
This series has been inspired by a stay at the historic Hotel Tjampuhan, set at the confluence of two sacred rivers in Ubud, Bali. The Hotel has been a haven for artists, writers and Balinese royalty for decades. Choosing to work within the natural world, Davey’s works’ transform the botanical into sensuous studies of ambiguity, illusion and wonder.
Pip Davey is an artist working from a studio at the Abbotsford Convent.
