UFO ARCHITECTURE
For more than 50 years the image of the UFO or flying saucer has vicariously permeated the imagination through sci-fi literature and cinema at both a cultural and personal level. Out of the corner of our eyes we recognise the ‘Unidentified’. Now an iconic symbol representing an-other worldly space the UFO has become a site of projection for that desire that lies beyond the prosaic everyday reality.
Nowhere more concrete is this cultural invocation than in the UFO pastiche of architectural structures, which aspire to and embody this archetypal form.
