Spring / Summer Series Part 2:
Feeling Material

28th October – 22nd November
Opening Wednesday 28th October 6pm to 8pm

Co-curated by Benjamin Woods and c3 Projects

Feeling Material is an exhibition that presents 10 newly commissioned works at c3 Contemporary Art Space and across various sites at the Abbotsford Convent and beyond. At its heart, this project seeks to provide a space to facilitate the adventurousness and precision of sculptural and spatial practice in Melbourne. Working across propositions, actions, movement, sculpture, sound, and landscape/architectural processes, the artists involved traverse a wide spectrum of approaches to constructing, highlighting and viewing many phenomena. Over its duration, Feeling Material aims to open up fresh thinking and discussion about the materiality and performativity of practice and place. This might require us to confront and explore our ability to participate within that which matters.

Show to be opened by Associate Professor Barbara Bolt (Artist, Theorist and PhD Coordinator, VCA, The University of Melbourne)
