DARCEY ARNOLD

Seducing the viewer into an eerie environment, the seduction of horror, the seduction of the screen, entrancing the viewer to watch, hypnotized by the unblinking penetrated eye to stare into and beyond the rhythmic motions. Working primarily in sculpture, instillation and drawing Darcey’s work is located within a theatrical realm of science fiction and surrealism, repeatedly dealing with the eye as icon and metaphor, with a curiosity in the psychedelic and fantastical.
Darcey Bella Arnold completed her Bachelor of Fine Art with a major in Drawing at the Victorian College of the Arts in 2008, and her Bachelor of Fine Arts Honors at Monash University in 2009. Since graduating she has exhibited solo and group shows in Adelaide, Mexico and throughout Melbourne, and is currently a studio resident at Rear View Gallery in Collingwood.
