SPACE A
IT WILL PASS
BETHANY O’DONNELL

It Will Pass examines the notion of home, both the tangible place and the imagined space in my head. It is a personal exploration of how these most intimate spaces define us and how moving can rattle our very sense of self. My own move to Melbourne this year and the emotions surrounding it was the catalyst for this project. It is in many ways a cathartic endeavour. This series of intimate ink drawings is an attempt to negotiate my own inner dialogue whilst working through change and finding myself again in a new home. The works are littered with the words of support I found from those closest to me. Chin up, it wasn’t meant to be easy, it will pass they assured me. And so it has started to.
