This isn’t what happened.
This is what he didn’t see.
This is what might he might’ve seen if he had got in his car and driven out into the country looking for something.
This didn’t happen because he stayed home wondering why he is so alone in a world full of people.
Taking up Country is series of photographs of hitchhikers. Shot from within the car these images hint at the menace of the empty highway, of the abandoned traveler and isolated bush.
