For Movements Butt and Hinder have selected artists and a body of work with movement as their muse. The works can be considered from a number of positions; movements within art history, of the body; through time, space and place – movements of the mind from consciousness to dream projection. Movements of the hand, body and eye in the creation of works and the action of pushing paint onto a surface. With Movements the act and process of painting is demonstrated individually and collectively to provide a snapshot of current practice within the discipline.
