MATTHEW DETTMER – OLIVIA O’DONNELL
Matthew Dettmer and Olivia O’donnell’s work placed side-by-side talks of cultural signifiers and trend within contemporary aesthetics. The works presented for this show are re-imagined objects and images used to illustrate an investigation into form, design and style. Paintings and objects are created through keen observations of that which surround us on a daily basis, from household mass-produced utensils to structures and objects seen within the streets and spaces we pass through. It is then through both a visual and physical note taking of our environments that these images are re-created in terms of Matthew and Olivia’s own visual language.
