TURTLE TIME
MATTHEW CLARKE
Matthew Clarke presents a new body of work inspired by tortoises. Clarke`s inspirations come from his local environment in South West Victoria with many of the works having particular emphasis on Codrington wind farm. The work has a soft political message about carbon footprints and clean energy for Victoria Cross pollinated with cultural influences from cartons, movies and TV.
Matthew was born in 1986 and lives in Kirkstall near Warrnambool in coastal south West Victoria. He lives with a mild intellectual disability but this has not impaired his pursuit of his passionate career as an Artist. He has produced 7 solo exhibitions and has appeared in many groups shows in Warrnambool, Geelong and Melbourne.
