Gallery 3
Viewing Zone
Kari McInneny McRae and Tessy King
This exhibition investigates the potential of the ‘viewing zone’ in relation to the ceramic object. Vessels and sculptural objects are combined on the floor and walls of the gallery in a manner that encourages the viewing of these works from particular locations. The artworks have become theatrical in their presence on the ‘stage’ and their role as performers in the spotlight. An area for viewing is loosely defined and can act as an intermediate space from which multiple perspectives for observing the works can be established.
