ANGELA THIRLWELL
MIDDLE WAY
Angela Thirlwell’s sculpture practice looks at the possibility that the work can be a primary manifestation of ‘being’ rather than a secondary proposition of interpretation. Using architectural props and precariously balanced structural gestures, her work explores the notion of a finished installed piece acting much like a Zen Koan, where the question posed holds answers that seem hidden and out of reach of the mind but are simultaneously revealed in other ways.
