Your first visit to a friend’s living space is an intense learning experience.
Facts and narratives both real and imaginary present themselves to you in quick succession – in every room, from every object. A person’s description of their environment can easily become an account of the day-to-day workings of that person’s life, of their ideas about the world they live in and how to live in it. The discoveries available to you can of course be incredibly banal, they can also be bewilderingly surreal. Sometimes they can be both these things at once. This video work presents a series of vignettes, each one a brief tour of the house of one of your acquaintances, who you can still remember visiting at home for the first time.
