TABOO
VANESSA VAN HOUTEN
Taboo is a series of 11 tableaux vivants which opens the facade of a Bavarian, middle-class house and shows the life of a young woman with her possessive grandfather and his poodle.
Vanessa Van Houten was born in San Rafael, California in 1971 and grew up in the Bahamas, Berlin and Munich. After completing a Bachelor of Photography at Polytechnic University in Dortmund, Germany she relocated to New York City to study with Jonas Mekas at The Anthology Film Archives. In 2007 she completed a Bachelor of Filmmaking at The Film Academy in Munich.
