FOYER SPACE
FALLING SUN
MICHAEL GEORGETTI
A combination of painting, sculpture and commonplace objects are employed to build precarious structures that examine the absurd nature of humanity’s relationship with machines. These kinetic structures have a temporal element to express human failure.
Objects are bound together to create anthropomorphic forms in order to make these works respond to the space in which they are constructed, also to address the way machines create a lens through which we perceive the everyday-world
These artworks are comprised of objects such as bathtubs, tennis balls, arrows, electric toy cars, paint, cement, fly swatters, hockey sticks, pool cues, crack pipes, wax, yoga mats, garment steamers, hair dryers, alcohol, portable swimming pools, heaters, rope, cement, water, fans and dream catchers.
