HEIDI FREIHAUT
Configuring Place. Pushing the body into somewhat painful positions though forming images pleasurable to the eye. Hard architectural edges place stress on flesh leaving behind bruising and aching muscles that remain hidden to most. These artworks are of the feminised self-suspended in uncomfortable situations, in order to create a desirable result.
Heidi Freihaut’s arts practice crosses into performance, photography and video. In 2008 she received a BFA first class Honours from the Victorian College of the Arts. Heidi has exhibited in artist run and regional galleries throughout Australia and overseas. She is currently completing a Master of Fine Art by Research at Victorian College of the Arts.
